Education News Colorado is an independent source of professional journalism located in Denver, Colorado. Although we are part of the Public Education and Business Coalition, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, we are editorially independent. Neither the PEBC staff nor members of its board of directors control or attempt to control our editorial content.

One of our major principles is to survive financially without compromising our mission of producing balanced, fair and constructive journalism about public education policy and practice in Colorado. We continually strive to develop diverse sources of revenue. We make it clear to our philanthropic funders and paid sponsors that they cannot influence our editorial product.

Some of our funders and sponsors take strong positions on education policy, though these positions vary widely. But all understand that their beliefs do not influence our editorial decisions.
